What happened?

The starting gate was moving and the horses were lining up.  Larry was on #8, the 3-2 favorite, and was facing the wrong way so he started to turn around.  Just then Mitch Cushing on the #6 ran right into him. 

I have never seen anything like that.  After about a 45 minute delay they scratch the 8 but Cushing’s horse stays in.
