The overnight always get worse when all the tracks are open. Smaller field size & stale racing...equals less wagering.
I wonder how much of the handle is CAW'S? It can't be half. Would DRF or someone at the Meadowlands release an accurate figure?

It is not half.
If they made the info public, how would affect their big for funding each year year? We will never really know

Make that 5 racing cards in a row under $3 million in total handle.  Last night's handle was $2,480,898

Make that 6 racing cards in a row under $3 million in total handle.  Saturday's handle was $2,834,772

 100%

Put them on at Freehold/Vernon, not the track where the old Meadowlands once sat.
Even if they don't win- if they come back sound & we'll try it again. They'll still be fed & well taken care of.
Have to keep them happy, well fed & rested.
They pay us back in money & memories to last a lifetime.

`Saturday’s program lights the candle for what should be an incredible stakes season,” said track Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Jason Settlemoir. “And let's be honest June has not been a good month business wise for us.  Last night's handle ($2,537,626) was the seventh consecutive night we failed to reach $3 million dollars. This upcoming stakes season will be crucial for us in determining whether we can continue without additional support."

“Saturday’s program lights the candle for what should be an incredible stakes season,” said track Chief Operating Officer and General Manager Jason Settlemoir. “And with the Breeders Crown returning to The Meadowlands (eliminations on Oct. 18 and 19; finals on Oct. 25 and 26), you can expect a constant flow of the sport’s greatest stars to be competing here for year-end honors throughout the 2024 racing season.”

Do all of these amateur races that they run not harm the handle?
I can't imagine making a serious stand in a race with those drivers.
