Hoosier Park cuts purses by 5%

Everybody else is raising purses, and HP cuts theirs by 5%???

OOPS, they must have been spending it faster than it was coming in. Already too much purse money for what kind of horses there and what driving colony there is.
Maybe they should have a battle of the tracks between Hoosier and Vernon. Could be very intriguing to watch!!

I race at Pompano Park (RIP) for many years. Saw it first hand then and it’s not much better now as there are not enough grooms today.  There are not many if any people who want to to this today and the pay is not much better if it’s better than years ago!

Great post. Hop is shit racing and the drivers colony is the worst I’ve ever seen. You hit the nail on the head. Vernon is actually a step up from Hoosier.

Purses had to be cut because Indiana racino slot/table game revenue is down.  Parimutuel handle makes up a very small percentage of the purse account at today's racinos.
