Here come the 2yo's...
« on: May 28, 2024, 11:41:09 AM »
FASTING goes 1:57.1  LQ28.3 at the Meadows today.  I know a few have qualified elsewhere, but this is the first sub 2:00 mile of the year.

The mile VOLSTARITA (2yo filly) trotted at Lebanon(KY) was crazy impressive for that track.  Bet they could name their price for her!

The question is—will they eventually run out of money to do this??

they have enough in purses and can sell ones they dont want to offset. also im sure arm and hammer isnt training out of the kindness of his heart. im sure he gets a training bill from the other owners. but when you have multiples in each race they get such a big part of the purse a lot of times. anything can happen but something drastic would have to happen. they have a tight grip on the industry. it would be tuff to bring them down. they have a legite monopoly or as close as you can get in an industry.

Burke homebred LOUPRINT wins in 2yo qualifier today in 1:55.3.  Back half in around 55 seconds.  Very impressive but is that too fast this early?  One to keep on the radar.

Saturday at Mohawk will have the fastest bunch of 2yr. olds. I here a few
of them and a couple of "Gorillas" trained in 56 off halves in a min. They
are way ahead of the curve and will take all the Gold in the early stake
season. It is the usual suspects. The ones that wintered in Florida.

The only way the Burke Brigade slows down is when Ronnie retires they will never run out of money. I will bet anybody that Ronnie will be done long before the old man lasted. If he wins the Hambo he might just be done in January. He's like Sears, he he has outside interests not just racing.
