Was Casie's #2 when Casie developed a lot of great horses. Training fell off pretty bad after his wife died iirc.

hice interview. Have no problem with it or him. He Had the opportunity of a lifetime presented to him. Unlimited bankroll, go shopping, buy whatever/how many you like, etc. Not many have had this. So, he had every opportunity. But even with that, the deck is stacked against him. Three big hurdles -- not his area of expertise by far, has never swam in and doesn't know these waters so little to no experience there either, and little to no experience on the management side. Sure, he did a very good job as Casie's field lieutenant, but I don't know how much latitude he was given there, and even if he was given it, she was still calling the shots. But, in the end, he's done pretty well. Let's see if the skills, know-how, etc., are transferable into this new world.

Was a very good pre-race man in the day. Very smart never told a soul,use to lock the barn down  so only he did the work. Tragedy about his wife,he's raising 2 kids,I hope things go his way but babies are a lot different then loading up race horses.

Actually if you only train 2yr olds then nobody really finds out how bad of a trainer you are. You can just blame it all on bad luck at the sale. If you have a racehorse stable that races every week it's self evident if you have a clue.
