Vernon a great track size and surface wise. Buildings/grandstand are showing their age.  Move all Yonkers racing to Vernon and do away with racing at Yonkers and that would be exciting. Send the MGM money to Vernon. MGM doesn't want racing anyway.

Friend in Vernon tells me they installed new roofs last fall and now are putting new carpeting in upstairs club house. Lots of fresh painting, even resurfacing the 1/2 mile track.
I’m planning on going up to the races Saturday. Will see what it looks like.

You can tell people have never been there. Great place to train young trotters. Just ask George DuCharme.

A lot of history there. Remember back in the 70’s when every summer during Grand Circuit week everyone who was anybody showed and then went to the big party Dr. Steele and his wife would throw for everyone. Probably where Eddie “Funnigan” Dunnigan got his nickname.

I think Kenwood Farms (Noyes) also had a big shindig too.

Not to be mean here, I already mentioned Ducharme on page 2 of this thread.
