I have viewed these pictures many times and it still evokes memories of the first time I attended the races there in 1968. The photo of Rum Customer is entertaining because the other horse in that phot was trained by Ira Smolin.

Speaking of Hail to All, like Ghandi, he lost a nose photo to a big name star.  Albatross beat him at Maywood in a quagmire.  I think the race went in 2:07 and a piece.  Many who saw the race live (including me) still believe Hail to All won.  The photo was not posted that night.

I went to Aurora and Washington many times.  Loved both tracks.  To this day I still carry a losing win ticket in my wallet from Aurora Downs dated February 13, 1970.  My favorite trotter ( Bold Over - Bobby Burnett) lost.  It was my last night of freedom as I got married the next day (Valentine's Day).
