Venezuelan man charged with sexually assaulting a minor in Campbell County

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Campbell County Sheriff’s is reporting that a Venezuelan citizen, who is allegedly in the U.S. illegally, has been charged with multiple sexual-related felonies.

According to the sheriff, on Thursday, Feb 22, 32-year-old Renzo Mendoza Montes from Venezuela was arrested and charged with two felonies for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.

On Sept 2, 2023, US Customs and Border Patrol detained and released Mendoza in El Paso, Texas.

He is currently being held without bond. WFXR News will update you with more information as it is released.
