Meadowlands Amatuer Drivers
« on: February 20, 2024, 07:04:17 PM »
5 count them 5 amateur drivers fined and suspended for indiscriminate use of the whip at the meadowlands.
These races are abusive to horses. All they want to do is whack away 1 handed

Robert Ciavardini was Bob Vitrano's second trainer, I believe, from the old days.

He also had a small stable in the 80s/90s. Good guy.

Agreed. Its a pointless waste of delaying the "real" races.

Only way for them to reach the number of races they need to a achieve their precious handle. Have you seen that Friday card? They only race twice a week and that's the best they can do? ngc3 MECCA 73cv.2

Well it’s like that at every track. These is really a horse shortage everywhere. Especially good quality horses. Most of them are torched

At the end of the day, it seems all that matters to Gural is full fields and handle. All these whipping violations get overlooked as long as the races fill. Even people on the Fishman list get passes as long as their barns fill the box as needed.

I beg to differ Larry. Miami this week has 663 horses in 70 races [with almost every race written with added entries] an average of 9.47 horse per race. So no you are completely wrong in saying 'EVERY' track has horse shortages. 11.wp 11.wp

How can you find and suspend an amateur?  They're called amateurs for a reason.
