Where are these so-called better drivers come Grand Circuit time of the year. BigM has become like Gulfstream with their championship meet and the slugs meet when the good jocks switch tack to Belmont Keeneland etc.

You are talking isolated time frames. Fact is they[top drivers] aren't there much of the time. The ones that remain are inferior. It would be tough for most Ohio drivers to try and break in there, but why would they want to? Much more solid reliable daily,weekly,yearly money in Ohio, at least for the time being. Fact is the term 'MECCA' for the Meadowlands is a thing of the more and more distant past.

I'll give you your due.When they are there, they do have a better colony. However as I said, they[top drivers] aren't there now , haven't been. They often leave to follow the money to Mohawk, Indy, Lex etc when they are. To each his own. You can have it. Personally , they could close it down tomorrow and I wouldn't lose any sleep.

Right now, there is very little of a driving colony at The Meadowlands! 

With comparable stock, how good would the Miami Valley guys be at The Meadowlands?
A better question is how many of the Miami Valley drivers could drive grand circuit stock and very good State Sires Stakes races against other top drivers and horses?

There handle out here stinks. Big purses nobody cares just like out east at yonkers.

Here is what is bad about Miami Valley   

1) No Friday or Saturday Racing

2) 4:00p Start

3) Facility Sucks -- Flat grandstand. If you are not on the glass --- you can stand outside which the weather usually is not great / or look up about 30 feet to where they have TV's  hanging

4) No Clubhouse with food options - not a big deal for me, but many would like to pay a couple of bucks to have a view of the track and maybe a TV to watch other tracks. -- Dayton Raceway has  a pretty good seating area.

5) You are lucky if there are two live tellers --- and they are busy -- you can pull some interested people from the casino side, but they may not want to tackle the machines that has the bubbles of 30 current racing tracks --- and that's just for start.

6) Not sure how many people like playing 5/8ths mile tracks..... Today - what would be considered the most successful 5/8th track.
