Trot Insider has learned that driver Bob McClure will be off this weekend's drives at Woodbine Mohawk Park and sidelined for an undetermined amount of time after sustaining injuries in an off-track accident.

More details on the extent of McClure's injuries and a timeline for recovery will be posted when available.

The sole driver of 2023 Dan Patch Award winner and 2023 O'Brien Award finalist Sylvia Hanover, Bob McClure posted 221 wins in 2023 and boasted his second best year for purse earnings with more than $6.2 million in his bankroll. Lifetime, the Guelph, Ont. based reinsman boasts 3,345 victories and more than $46 million.

The injury was not a textbook broken leg by any means! It was put into place in the operating room with the aid of some hardware. Hopefully it will work like it did prior to the crash!
