Tessa’s maiden name is Roland. From her father’s side of the family she is at minimum third generation horse person. On her mother’s side of the family she is a fourth generation horsewoman. She was cleaning stalls and jogging horses from a young age. Both of her parents drove at the Iowa fairs. She has two brothers who drive and train. She has done an outstanding job keeping older claimer’s racing. JD may have been the named trainer previously, but I can tell you Tessa has always done more than her share of the work.

Thanks for the info!  Doesn't explain super trainer status!  tmbz1

You seem to be a close friend of hers so maybe you can explain why between 2012 and 2022 she had only 91 starts as a trainer and then exploded in 2023 and even exploded more lately. Tough to have a good explanation other than she is fronting for someone else

He also hangs out with Bruce Soulsby on the regular. That doesnt hurt either.

Rumor had it that Belcher was intertwined with Case Jr. Outside of racing too!!

when the old man was alive they had a barn full of cheap horses. they didnt win much at all.  they worked hard. very nice people. john unfortunately passed.  then the kid went to ny. now he wins whenever he wants. put the puzzle together.

bob did not hang aroung with anyone from the track. you would think bob and walter would talk a lot. i think it was the opposite. walter just got on the bike and sent them all. he wouldnt listen to directions. walter did what walter wanted.
