Meadowlands racing Thursday
« on: December 06, 2023, 10:27:19 PM »
"There will be an extra day of racing next week at The Big M, as in addition to the usual Friday and Saturday night programs, there will also be a live card on Thursday (Dec. 7). Post time is the usual 6:20 p.m.  With only 10 races there will be no pool guarantees on the pick 4's and limited post time drag."

Will say this, David Miller must have some boring home life or need to get out of the house on a consistent basis because how could a guy like him be driving this card on a freezing Thursday night at the age of almost 60. To each his own.

Unfortunately, this is the future there. How long is anyone's guess? Purses are better at other tracks.  Big stables and even mid-size stables are downsizing due to a lack of help and a lack of new owners. Why ship to New Jersey when the shipping costs are so high and more and more of the top drivers are not there? You can see every year, the quality of racing gets weaker and weaker. Never thought it would be this bad, but it's reality. Tm 71 and under are $4000 horses. ( some wouldn't;t even bring that much if sold online today) Tough to look at but true.

We have this same conversation with the same stupid comments about garbage fields and low purses every year after the stake season. This time of the year is for the old low claiming horses and drivers who don't get to drive there much during the rest of the year, while the "A" drivers all take vacation or back off their workload. People that keep saying these comments just hate Gural and the Meadowlands, so next December we will be reading the same nonsense all over again.

1st. Going with #1 Shinkansen . Not much speed in here, he is off form, but so is most of the field. Should sit first or second thru out. 1/45 ex
