Positive test- post race

Horse:
HUNTED HOUSE

Pharmaceuticals:
Levamisole (Class 2)

Additional Details:
205 CMR 3.29 (1)(2)(2A)(3). On 6/30/2023 Industrial Labs reported to the Mass State Gaming Commission/Racing Division at PRC, two post race positive test results. Both horses raced on 6/15/2023 at PRC and were trained by Melissa Beckwith. The horse HUNTED HOUSE participated in Race 4 and finished 1st. The Certificate of Analysis, Sample E545473 showed Levamisole in the blood. In addition the horse PROBERT participated in Race 7, finished 2nd but was subsequently disqualified and placed 3rd for interference. The report for Sample E545480 also showed Levamisole in the blood. Analytical Forensic Testing Labs conducted the analysis and on 10/25/2023 reported their findings regarding both concentration and confidence levels. A hearing was conducted on 11/2/2023 and as a result of all the facts presented trainer Melissa Beckwith is hereby fined the sum of $1,000.00 and is also issued a full suspension for a period of 90 days beginning 11/8/2023 through and including 2/5/2024. The true story is that there was a fire in his barn. Luckily it happened when people were there and the horses were saved. There was a lot of smoke that horses inhaled. All were saved but given time to recover. THIS IS THE TRUE STORY NOT THE RUMORS

If it's listed as banned then the trainer is responsible, no arguing that

I would like to hear from a vet or someone with knowledge what this does for a racehorse,

as I read it is a de-wormer, something everyone has to treat their horse with

why is this particular one banned?

does it improve performance, or is deemed unhealthy for the horse

It metabolizes within the body and turns into aminorex which is an analogue to methamphetamine.
