Monticello Race 2 no way!!
« on: October 31, 2023, 09:35:25 PM »
Winner pays $105.  Goes off at 51-1.
Exacta pays less than win price? $102.
Double pays $49.
And we want to know why the game is in big trouble.

$204 $2 Exacta looks very right to me. Easy error to understand when some tracks report $1 payouts and some $2. The $2 DD of $99 is right too when you consider a 2/5 winner with only 6 horses in the race.

How come these things are always thought of as how the Exacta came back short?

It's equally likely the Ex is fair and the Win price is "long."

Math, folks.  Math.

ding ding ding

I watch monticello in the afternoon during lunch --- they put some decent money into exacta and trifectas and often will have a 1-5 shot which means the win odds are very skewed.

Not a big gambler, so Monticello is a place you can get decent payoffs if you can identify a beatable favorite.

Kyle had a 1-5 shot in a maiden trot coming off a sick scratch. That skewed the win prices

No worries Larry. Is your brother Peter still alive?

I read a post that stated Lar4400 is Larry Rolla. Maybe it is not.

you guys do realize that the exactor pools and win pools are completely separate and distinct and do not influence each other

for example , say someone was actually going to bet that longshot winner, $10 wp
instead he bets some $5 exactors with the winner on top
so the exactor pool gets hit with the money not the win pool
especially relevant at the smaller tracks with lower handles
