Dayton Raceway is PACKED
« on: October 28, 2023, 04:21:37 PM »
Huge crowd ( not kidding )

Ostrich and camel races
The mouth Roger announcing.

Have to bet on phone as no way to get a ticket with teller, they’re 10+ deep in any line.

I never imagined this gimmick pulled people in.  Suppose it is fun family event if you have young kids.

It does almost nothing for the sport or expanding the fan base.

the event isn't meant to have an immediate impact. It's to offer some family time at a racetrack. The effects might come in the future when someone returns to 1 of our tracks and explores the grandstand or perhaps gets escorted to the backstretch to see what goes on there with the horses.

This is a great promotion. Anything that people , young and old, to the track can generate new interest in harness racing. Even if it is a small percentage, it is something.

My question, which is the better promotion to create new interest

a. Camel races?
b. A female impressionist show?
