Red Mile Bluegrass 2 yr olds coming up Friday
« on: September 26, 2023, 11:38:31 PM »
4 splits for the 2 yr old colt pacers.....at The Red Mile this Friday

But just one quick question....

How come the best ones  were No Shows for the Metro?

Metro Purse was $970,000  1 Heat..

Bluegrass $87,000

The Red Mile is a sensational racetrack...

maybe 1.88 seconds faster than any track in the world but

still a superb racetrack.

Racing at night with cool weather and a headwind has

no comparison to The Red Mile...afternoon red clay bounce racing.

If you want exxxxagerated  super fast times ..thats the place to go..

Lets call a spade a  spade..

I love The Red Mile...History and Tradition...

There are some super 2 year olds racing in the Bluegrass on Friday..

Would have loved to have seen them stretch against horses

like Captains Quarters, Legendary Hanover and Clever Cody..

at Mohawk...

if they were fast enuf to qualify the Saturday before..

For a G note you get to start in the Bluegrass...Guara nteed

For $5000  you get to TRY to qualify for the Metro.

My book, the Bluegrass is a traditional race....excellent but...

maybe  a "Grade 3" as they say in the Tbreds..

whereas the Metro is  THE  "Grade 1"  Acid Test for 2 yr old

colt pacers...in North America.

Past winners include  Artsplace, Rock n Roll Hanover, Sportswriter,

Somebeachsomewher e, Captain Treacherous, and Stockade Seelster.

Confederate just missed last year...with speed freak Captain's Quarters

winning last Saturday.

I can't wait for Fridays Red Mile races.

There are next to no "best" ones in the 4 heats and the ones that are above most in ability Newsroom, Captain Albano, and Better is Nice were most likely not eligible to the Metro. There are a couple of NY Breds who are OK but also probably were not eligible.

Arson beat the weakest of the KY stakes divisions, and Ivy Park is ouchy. Nancy probably just wants to keep him in one place.

Good observation..

Looks like the 3 you mentioned are excellent.

Probably will be in the Breeders Crown..

That should be a good one...and I suppose the eliminations

will shake out the field.
