Dr J hanover won in 46.4 there but it was an early carded race … maybe the 2nd or 3rd of the night on an earlier post time

It seems as though with early posts during summer time, Mohawk can supply fast miles with a lot of water put into the track prior to the first race of the night.

The later carded races of the night there don’t tend to be as snappy

Funny you say that, I always felt that tracks got faster later into the card as they were raced over a few times.

I am sure that could be the case in some scenarios
A lot of factors could affect that

But as for Mohawk specifically, it seems as though the earlier races go fastest
I am not sure if it has to do with altitude or perhaps the amount of water they put into the track prior to the first race

Yes my point. Good horse obviously, but definitely an outlying mile time.

The major issue that caused him to miss time early in his career appears to be in his rear view mirror! The story is well documented if you care to educate yourself about it.I believe that it was an incident with an aquaciser or something very similar. Hopefully it is water under the bridge!

Bythemissal won nearly all of his earlier lifetime starts with Chris Page in the bike!.Since changing hands, he has become a machine. Just watch last week's race. Yannick never asked him to go and went 47 flat under a strangle hold! His qualifier the last quarter went 24 and change.?? I guess my old eyes are getting a little rusty after fishing Charlie May in the Haughton! ($64.40)
