Jack Pelling
« on: August 28, 2023, 06:40:16 AM »
I know there have been threads about him before.  Some saying he stiffs horses or whatever.  I've never notice anything of that nature.  My question is does he have talent?  In my opinion he gets nothing extra out of any of his drives and wouldn't drive in 100k+ races if it weren't for his last name.  Now, if history tells us anything, he will go on a hot streak after this post.  Is anyone out there a believer that he will develop into a capable catch driver at any A or B track?  I've only seen a handful of drives, am I missing something?

Given the opportunities he has been given due to his last name, I would have to say no. If he was going to make it he would have produced more results by now

I have seen and heard him in interviews and have watched him drive, In my opinion, he is an ordinary driver and comes off like he "doesn't have that fire in the belly".

Maybe just be content learning the ins and outs of training from his dad.  Not a bad gig if he could take that over one day.  Could be just like Nancy!

Herve once told me 40 yrs ago , there’s only 3 kinds of drivers in this game.
The one you put on a 59 pacer and he makes them go in 2:00, the one you put
on a 59 and he makes them good in 59 & the one you put on a 59 pacer and he makes go in 58
