Now that the dust has settled...........
« on: July 17, 2023, 02:55:02 AM »

Now that the M1 pace, the Super Bowl of Harness Racing is in the books. $850,000 wagered.
Other than Confederate's beat down, what other race was equal to top billing?

         1. Shesasharpshooter
         2. Sylvia Hanover
         3. Charlie May
         4. Mikala
         5. M-M's Dream
         6. Tim Tetrick's (5) Bagger

1.) Confederate still dominates, as a 51:3 or 51:4 individual LAST half is just awesome.

2.) Mikala (albeit covered all the way) not seeing the rail from gate to wire was pretty impressive (estimated 40+ feet longer trip than anyone else and she was rolling away).

3.) I wouldn't want to try and balance a glass of water on M-M Dream's back, but when Dexter pushed Jiggy to a 26:2 4th quarter (not sure why) he drained the tank a bit early and M-M (while looking like Nickawampus Leroy... a pacer with a "racky" gait) blew by.

Dexter really made some curious driving decisions (and has been for the past few months.)  I understand that he owns a piece of Twin B Joe Fresh, and would rather see her get a good chunk of purse money than gas her and miss the board, but he given her at least 2 "curious" drives.

From my vantage point it was a solid night of "high purse" racing and a great opportunity for someone who was willing to look past the chalk frequently (unfortunately, that was not me!!)

Charlie was 4 wide from post 9 in the 1st turn prior to looping the other parked horses in order to get to the open hole ! Pretty impressive for an "economy " size animal. tmbz1
