George Napolitano Jr
« on: July 16, 2023, 11:12:55 PM »
Does anyone know why Geo Nap is rarely, if ever, used by trainers in big races? He has basically owned the drivers titles at Pocono for many years. Today Pocono had many stakes type racing and he was not on one horse. He was in two overnight races at the end of the day and won them both. He also does well at Harrahs Philly and seems to in demand for overnight type races.

Are u serious?? Guy is fine for claimers n stuff like that but for a young horse he is not...go ahead and get yourself a young stakes caliber horse and put him on...I'm 100% positive he will be available to drive it for u!!! Hope ur happy when comes back after the race and all u have left is the horses tail n hopefully leaves u with a 4 claimer after he cooks it!!

Absolutely accurate!  Guy will win 13 or 14 thousand races and never see the HOF!

U can rest assured u will get 1 of 3 types of drives from this clown...
#1 leave a hundred in 26.3 or better, slow 2nd quarter, gas up the backside n hopefully have enuff to hold off any late charges
#2 Leave gate between 25.2 n 26.3 get put away 3rd,quarter move to front, all done at top of strecth
#3 At least 3 lengths of gate when the man says GO,gapped at back of field no chance trip, then a healthy vet bill from Dr. Mitchell when he has to realign ur horse neck and spine after this asshat tried to bend ur horse in half taking it off gate..

Once in a while u may get a 1st up trip or 1 of my favorites,2nd over then 3 wide to nowhere while cover still goin forward thru last turn absolutely no shot from there!! Can't make up any ground at that spot...

When we watched him earlier in his career, "Georgie Nap" was always pretty rough on horses. In the early 90's we raced 4 cheap claimers at Pompano, but never put him down to drive one. Our go to guys were Charlie Giamanco, Billy Palmer, and Joe Pavia Jr. As the years passed, George has done well away from the now defunct Pomano Park. But he still seems pretty rough on the horses!

I remember everything  I must admit Pompano was one of the few harness tracks i never got to in my 60 years   Steve Oliwa  Andy Santeramo  Kevin Wallis all graced the Pompano oval  lots more too

Yep, i knew them all. Steve Oliwa passed away much to young. Andy drove a few for us too! Kevin Wallis was usually on "big stable" horses. Which we certainly didn't own! LOL!
