Not sure what to make of the fact that between them Alagna and Burke are entering 1/3 of the horses entered. Looking at their entries, neither has a horse that appears to have a realistic chance to make the final. 

Why would they even enter these 2nd rate colts?

They made all the payments and have too much money.

Realistcally El Rey might be good enough to make the final but that field is absolutely killer and the hardest of the divisions

As for Burke maybe Ervin Hanover can get 2nd or a 3rd that gets in.  He has one absolutely wicked brush and I believe it was last years BC eliminations where he showed lightning gate speed.
