Big M asking horsemen not to race in PA...
« on: February 12, 2023, 06:19:59 PM »
With Pocono Downs reopening next weekend, Meadowlands management is asking the horsemen not to race in Pennsylvania.
"We cannot thank our horsemen enough for supporting our entry box the way they have,” said track chief operating officer and general manager Jason Settlemoir. “You cannot put out a product like ours – with big fields and a low percentage of winning favorites – without horsemen supporting you. We have that and are extremely grateful for it. We only ask that they not enter at Pocono starting next week or Chester in April so that we may continue to offer full fields”

Big m management got a lot of nerve to say don’t race in Pa. Who do they think they are. That’s such a classless move. As an owner, or Trainer, they should boycott entering at big M until they apologize for their idiotic comments

The Meadowlands only race 2 days a week. They don't offer enough races for most of the trainers to enter all of their horses. They have to race somewhere else.

Looks like there will be now 6 amateur races a card.  Can also lower the TM races even lower so they get more Freehold horses. What is going to happen when Chester opens? Are they going to tell them not to race there too? So their handle will drop and they'll blame everyone else.

In fact they did say don’t race at Chester in April

DeFrank didn't have to ask, if he wanted your horses, you entered.

Probably wouldn't have to beg for horses if you didn't kick everyone and anyone out who you don't like or is considered a "drug" trainer. Oh wait if you really kicked out every drug/chemist trainer meadowlands would have 0 entries

Why do you believe Stanets lies? He always changes the Meadowland quotes to suit his prejudice's.

This probably wont be left up long, but here is the link to the actual story and quote.

these second rate tracks are not going to make a difference or save harness racing
the big m being successful makes harness racing better
so yes trainers /owners should fill the box at the big m, if they dont get in than fine go to the others
long terms thinking versus very short term thinking

Does it matter if they didn't say it this time? They have asked/threatened horsepeople to stay out the PA box multiple times. Are you denying that?

They also told the drivers if they don't drive all year they won't be allowed to drive during the stakes season. Then they card 3 or 4 GSY races and make the guys sit and watch.

Why accommodate a track owner who throws out other trainers who have a positive test but doesn’t throw out his own like Andy and Julie? I wouldn’t bust my ass to fill the box there until the guy stops playing favorites and treats everyone the same. Screw the Jew. That’s my motto
