Hollywood Heyden on being fired by Jeff Gural
« on: November 20, 2022, 08:22:24 PM »
"When I asked for a pay raise and benefits I guess they found me expendable and my services were no longer required. After 36 years when then decided to not bring me back in October 2019. Mr. Gural did not insult me, he insulted the 1,179 individuals who wrote, texted, called or told me in person how sorry they were that I was leaving.”
Sounds like Bob doesn't have too much love for Jeff.

Asking Gural for more money sounds like a great way to end your career immediately

Yes, he was. They always are.  Every. Single. One.

Daily Racing Form is no better.

You cannot work at DRF without a beanie.

Beyer, Crist, Jay Hovdey, Sparkman, Simon, Davey Tuley are the current columnists at DRF.  You can look it up.

No wonder DRF is so cheap. When they took over Harness Eye I complained to Derick Giwner about the program only having 6 lines for each horse and less when the fields were larger than 10 horses. He would tell me how expensive ink and paper cost. Now everything is online and it's still the same shit product.

Yes I see the pattern. Many smart and successful people are Jewish.

depends on your perspective
if you are interested in the sport than he has a lot of historical information that many would find interesting
if you are simply a gambler than his information would have no relevance to you
i will say however that if you are depending on the on air types to provide you with winners you should not be wagering

  • Trigger: Very good analysis Calhoun, moreso from my perspective that Albin Jimenez was suspended and the #2 ride was really suspicious and overooked.  Is it possible that there is action equal to far greater outside mutual pools worldwide?

  • Calhoun: That tri pool was $4500. Net of takeout $3300.  Out of 60 possible outcomes, the result was  5th most likely out of 60 (using win odds to calc). Paid 14 to 1. Doesn't seem awful. It also would have been bet pretty good by the genpop. Maybe rigged for the 3 to win but the tri? I think not too likely.

  • Trigger: The race that everyone is talking about where Jimenez #1 stiffs his horse to finish behind the #3 his gf, but no one mentions the #2 (Lebron) and how he stiffed to be behind Jimenez.  To set up the 312 tri watch the stretch. [link]
