Masterful drive @ Dover...
« on: November 16, 2022, 05:50:59 AM »
What a drive by Allan Davis in the 7th at Dover!  Not everyone could keep a lifetime winner of 9 races still eligible for NW10 look that good!   tmbz1

And no, I didn't bet...flipped on the tv when I walked through the door and that was the first race on.  Checked the program after I watched it because of the lack of effort last 1/16th.

This is definitely not his first lack of effort...and he's not even close to the only one doing it.  This is the problem with NW classes.  He's racing in NW8000 with $25k on his card.  But NW10 allows him to keep racing in the same class.

He just does it with his trotters. They go for good money and add in the De. 20% and it makes sense to stay in the class. If we can see it the judges must but Brian just looks the other way for now.

I think you guys give this Allan Davis to much credit with the lack of effort on horses he drives. There’s no way he’s that good  73cv.2 73cv.2

Let's just say he doesn't give consistent efforts when driving for a win.

As an owner I would be perfectly fine with this.  $2500 + 20% DE bonus and right back in next week as one of the favorites.  But as a gambler, this may have cost someone big.  And that is never taken into consideration.  I partially blame this on the condition sheet writer, stop putting classes together that don't belong.  NW10 should be in a higher condition than NW8000 (L4 or 5) can't remember. There has to be a classification system that would be better to prevent this.  Or only allow horse to race in a class so many times.

That's why we are the only people still watching this. Everybody else left many years ago too.
Ray Schnittker's father used to brag about how brilliant Ray was using this same strategy.

The last race at Yonkers tonight is another reason everybody is gone as well.
Even money favorite never made any attempt to go to the gate and started about 20 lengths behind.
