What happens when the real drivers are out of town?
« on: September 11, 2022, 01:17:41 PM »
Handicappers didn’t have to go too far down the driver’s list to come up with the winners on the Saturday night (Sep. 10) card at The Meadowlands as Corey Callahan and Joe Bongiorno both guided five to victory lane on the 14-race program.
"Joe and I would like to get more stakes drives but when the big guys are out of town it's a heck of a lot easier to win here," said Callahan. "Most of the drivers tonight were Freehold, Delaware and Maryland regulars so me and Joe had a pretty big edge talent-wise on most of them."

There is a reason Callahan and Bon Bon aren't on the Grand Circuit trail.  The both have very little talent to drive a good horse.  They don't know how to protect two yr olds and there not in "the click" with the rest of the boys.

“The Click”. Being the largest factor…..

Race 5 last night anyone know what Montrell was doing when he reached over to Trae Porter with his whip.  Could have caused that horse to break.  Should be fine coming with that.  No excuse for that.

Hard to believe that Callahan would make a statement like that. Where can I read it?

It wasn’t made up. I read it too. It had to be on USTA. I was very surprised as well.
