Purses are shit.  Expensive to live there. Expensive on products.  Don’t know why people are crying about it becoming a ping pong hall.

ill usually take my 3-4 there for a couple months in Winter, to get trained down while I relax in the sun.
We don't need to race, we do it for the love of horses & because we can. Great game if you have the means.
*3 y.o colt & filly have been top3 in their sire stake
*The 2 y.o's have shown a ton of talent & 1 just missed a sire stake win

You were very fortunate to have come across Ora Stratton, a genuine example of the finest human kind. Sounds like you're probably still in fine shape as you express sensible, intelligent life decisions. God Speed.

It isn't the locale to make a fortune, best used to get the babies trained down & ready to qualify.

a nice vacation for owners/trainers & even the horses

this is not rocket science. They went there to get out of the cold. People hoped to break even. few did.

Pompano as a racetrack lost focus and interest more than 23 years ago. Then, a truck driving school i had an interest in, rented space in their parking lot for our trucks as did a few car dealers and rental agencies.

One can't win in harness racing, they can only lose less than they did the day before. Then it's a good day.
