Red Mile Sunday Conversation
« on: October 10, 2021, 08:54:05 AM »
After Saturday -- How will the track play ?

I was there on Saturday, got there around 12:20p. Not many around and stood past the paddock by the first turn watching them warmup... I noticed horses that were going the wrong way around the 3-4 path, were hitting the ground and sound like a typical limestone track--- very hard.  Meanwhile as they warmed up the right way it sounded more like your typical Red Mile with a big cushion... After watch the races Saturday --- a DEEP cushion... As barely anything that cut the mile was able to last into the stretch.

Also  both Friday and Saturday --- They are walking to the first quarter, yet with speed not very good, front end is not lasting -- Question -- is the starter getting them out of there quick enough ?

Race 1 -- saw the replay of the 2 win last week and he won easy. Like the fact that Dunn is driving the rail after a good race he got out of the 3 last start.   2-1 exacta   Not a fan of the double as I expect the first race winner (Hopefully) will be about 3-5 and I don't like anything enough in the second to punch one ticket.
