I haven’t watched a race from Hawthorne in years, I flicked it on last night & couldn’t believe the paddocks. All the steeds in the shed row hooked up to cross ties, wtf! Reminds you of being at a fair in the country where most trainers are pounding caffeine to the horses due to no testing lol

Yes with lack of funds not much testing going on even at Hawthorne. Three races randomly get a full panel run while the balance is a whose who of what they test for. The purse account still suffers being 1.36M in the whole as 91.5% of wager is ADW the lesser of the three ways of funding the purse account. Who knows how long harness racing keeps it casino lifeline but I can imagine the next recession will be bigger than the last as global debt has soared that casinos and government are always looking for money. Hell Hawthorne was given the green light on a casino and still NOT up and running.

There was a Australian company that was suppose to partner but haven't heard much in a couple months.

If The Hard Rock can open a new 300 million casino in a bad area of Gary In, I don't know why they cant open one at Hawthorne?

I still think Carey wants in on a new track with Rick H. I think that deal still has some life and it frees up capital. There are so many family members involved with Hawthorne who the heck knows. Charm also right can't compare the two states not too mention all the gaming in that Gary/Hammonf/Chicagoland once Chicago is up and running that the profits will be amazing...I don't see it.
