onkers, NY — As harness racing resumes at Yonkers Raceway after a brief break this Monday (June 7), Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts announced today harness racing spectators can return to wager and enjoy live racing in person at the historic track beginning Wednesday (June 9). Fans will be permitted trackside with a limited capacity to ensure social distancing requirements can be maintained.

Yonkers Raceway will open their doors to the fans on June 9 Wednesday. Fans must socially distance on the open apron of the tracks. Certain protocols will be observed but I’m too sure what’s involved

They are still out there working as of yesterday . looks like there down to fine grading plus or minus a few inches of stonedust.  I wonder how the track will first react . slow times? better for the horses .

Alot of work being done I drove past yesterday.  Hopefully it's better for the horses.  Do you think this was really needed tho?

                   track maintenance could not get the track ready in 10 days.
                    there will be no racing till Wednesday.
                        hopefully they get it done by then.

The new surface shows overwhelming bias for speed.  Almost every winner led gate to wire.  Will be interesting to see if that holds up.
