What's the deal on Marino?

Good honest horseman or more to the story?
Using Campbell on most of his horses at Fraser Clowns.
Campbell likes the drugs and on his horses too!!

Therres, lol.
When he brings his horses over to Century in the summer, the SURGEON GENERAL (Serge Masse) comes  over to drive.  Something I heard but don't understand, Masse got a lifetime ban from Northlands, yet he could drive in Southern Alberta, how is that even possible?

I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say the pipeline of drugs to Canada is alive and well and some would be surprised that the connections are not prominent or well known.
Shipment comes everytime that black and yellow or green and yellow rig crosses the border

I'm surprised that harness racing still exists in Canada west of Mohawk and London.

The West Virginia Dog track handles 10x what Fraser does in a week.  Right?

What kind of welfare out there supports Fraser?

Great West Gaming runs the show out there. 5/8 track with the first turn of a 1/2 mile track and their final turn is shy of a true 5/8's turn that's why you hop em up and gun to the front.

well it was a 1/2 mile track that they converted to 5/8ths - not all run and gun.
Lets also remember there are some pretty good horsemen out there who like the surroundings (and maybe some of the things Iceman eluded to as well).  Jim Marino is not in that sentence for sure

I beg to differ with you on Marino and success comes if you can get any position just off the lead.

maybe for Marino, but guys who can actually drive a horse like Hoerdt or Masse can win it from anywhere.  Unless we add tony kerwood back in  73cv.2 73cv.2 73cv.2

Hoerdt and Masse driving juiced horses make them all look like amateurs. Marino because of past injuries doesn't drive as much but he defended Pena and Coleman when he was asked on one of the harness sites and they all have the same yogurt.

can you name a single horseman that isnt driving a juiced horse because no matter whom we talk about, their success is all with an asterisk by their name ?   I thought that was confined to just those who you competed against 30 years ago, but apparently its at every track, every where.

Any good horseman that doesn't drive and uses the top drivers and still can't win a race are not juicing. They're still in it because it's their life and they invested and saved their money wisely. Forget the Covid, forget the Internet wagering, forget the casinos back then the stands were full and the racing was exciting and great. Now it's mainly who has the best drug that others don't. Before all this Covid I and buddies would sit every race night in the outside bar at Mohawk and if you listened in to conversations at other tables around you their selections were all centered around trainers and drugs and the track was 3/4's empty unless it was a big stakes night.

you said Hoerdt and Masse were juicers or juice drivers - marino stock maxed - who is left then at Fraser that is good and isnt a juicer. I can tell you that a ton of people know how great an allaround horseman Masse is and was - whats your insider knowledge on him - you saw him via simulcast once?  So you and your buddies listened to other people at tables casting aspersions about juicing trainers and that is the basis of your argument?  innuendo and speculation?

Masse!!! ngc3 ngc3
What was the "Sergeon" general caught with at Northlands Park, wasn't it cobalt.  Who was using cocaine on the tongue tie, Serge or was that Bruce Clarke?
When Serge came into Northlands he took it by storm, don't think it was because of the new style bikes he had at the time.  That wouldn't get you tossed out by Northlands for good.

No Glen Gierson, that was Edgar "sparky" Clarke and the tongue tie.  I doubt Fats was but you never know. ngc3 ngc3
Serge can get anything to go, hangs em up correctly, then he adds in the blinkers (yes thoroughbred blinkers) and usually the winners cheque from the race office.
