The 1 had SO many things going against her, it is almost as if she had no shot.

THREE DAYS REST to begin with....a race in which she was headed to 3/4s and had to fight for all she was worth to hold sway.

There was a bridge jump to show....something I have never understood.  In a sport like harness racing, in an overnight event, where the incentive to win is minimal (purse and opportunity to race) why in the world would anyone ever chase nickels?  Try a race that matters (stake race or some other higher incentive spot) so you are guaranteed a better effort by all involved.

Loney/Wrenn factor....no explanation necessary.

And if any of that wasn't enough.....the horse is void of GATE speed...not grind/float to the top by the 1/4 speed, but foot off the car so she figured to get out where she did which takes her chances way down.

I was playing and had bet just $1 to win on both their last races at 42-1 and 73-1.

So I decided to play a $1 ex box with both. They went off at 40-1 and 50-1.

Then right before the race went off I played a $1 to win on both because I thought even if one of them got there the chances of both stepping up was slim and none.

Plus C. Brian Loney's horses were juiced last week but empty this week and she was 1/5.

So I thought the two Illinois horses were no worse than the rest. tmbz1

Beamer N Bud paid $110.60 to win and Roberts New Life finished 3rd with little room up the rail.

The 8 finished 2nd on the outside exacta paid $4,212.60.

The tri paid $18,023.80.

Super paid $5,614.76 for .20

Pk5 was 4 out of 5 and has a $6,015.00 carryover for tonight.
