Disliked Drivers ?
« on: November 08, 2020, 01:58:17 PM »
Follower for many years of the sport and business but do not have any insiders anymore. Just wondering, are there any drivers who are disliked by a majority of other drivers?  What one or two , do the others really dislike even if they pretend to like them on the outside? Always good to know the gossip, truth, inside info, and/or reasons.

I haven’t been active for many years but from what I read here on horseploop there is nothing but love and respect amongst fellow drivers, trainers grooms bettors and fans .. A love fest like I’ve never seen anywhere else !!

It changes daily. Drivers can be a jealous bunch. And catching another driver putting the boots to your wife moves you right up thd shit ladder quickly

Back in the day on the East coast it was probably the red man Carmine Abbatiello who may have been disliked but he was respected ..

Emperor Dapple,
Thank you so much for that article on Abbatiello. Very interesting. I guess from the article the other drivers liked him but did not like his aggressiveness on the track and bragging off the track. I wonder if there are any over aggressive drivers now that love to brag too much when they win?  Maybe now they are all humble and don't go around preaching and bragging.
Thanks again, great article !
