Florida Sunshine Stakes Not Televised
« on: October 25, 2020, 07:08:36 PM »
It's amazing in today's day and age that non betting Stakes races are not televised.  The only way to create enthusiasm in your product is to allow people to watch it.  FSBOA did a great job in publishing the program on their website, having a race caller at the track and a nice write up on US Trotting.  Even fair tracks have gone to streaming their races on facebook live with much success.  In today's day and age all you need is one camera and stream on facebook live.  Use the camera at Pompano.  It can't be that expensive.  You had a full card of 9 races this past week and I would assume 9 races for this Saturday.  STREAM THEM LIVE AND ALL NON BETTING RACES GOING FORWARD!!!!!   All races for purses whether non betting should be taped or televised.

Can't promote harness racing and sire stakes programs if races aren't shown.  Quality is irrelevant.  46 horses raced on Saturday.  I'm sure those owners, breeders, trainers, grooms, etc. care.  Some of the horses have dual sire stakes programs.  Finals of these races and other non betting races go for over $10k and FSS Finals over $50K.  All stakes races for purses need to be shown.  Betting or non betting. I don't care if it's a walkover.  Show the races.

my guess is the races are being taped, as a purse race and for fouls/interference. to stream the races cost about nothing at that point.  i watched some fair races streamed and do think we might get a fan or two by getting the races out there.

I agree, they should be shown. If you want people to breed and buy in any state, it would be nice to watch them. The expense of a few cameras and a car is not much.
