Sales are what they are credits, farm run up's, pre made deals, and deep pockets chasing deep pockets. Maverick was a pre arranged deal with all the hoopla prior to the sale of a million dollar purchase. I'm sure there were enough fantasy bids on the way up and Tony only raised his hand 3 times. Full/half brothers and sisters have taken a lot of deep pocketed owners to the woodshed.

yep

Whoever is in, likely knew the risks involved.  They also likely in for the duration, unless a Charlie Tuna comes along.

I am sure that the owners were thinking that they would get their money back on the horses breeding whether they keep him and stand him stud or sell him overseas. If he does better on the track, that will be a bonus (like Tactical Landing).

I am sure their intentions are to race and make a lot of money. The stallion part is something for them to fall back on if he does mediocre (like so far).

The ownership group and others are prolly guilty of the presale hype and pre sale deals. It still has nothing to do with the horses ability. It reminds me of a couple years ago with Tactical Landing. He had 2 starts as a 2 year old and broke inn both. He did have a winning Q in 1:57, staying flat.
Tactical Landing got a barn change for his 3 yr. old campaign to Jimmy Tackter's barn. Yimmy took his time in getting Tactical this impeccably bred trotting machine,  the confidence and speed needed to develop into an ultra impressive trotter. Each start, Yimmy treated it as a schooling and a race. It was one of the greatest applications of horsemanship I have ever seen. I don't feel he hit his best before retiring but, that can be said for many.
Perhaps Maverick will be one of the same. I sure hope so . It would be nothing short of inspiring for all of harness racing.

Tony ain´t Yimmy, never will be. Just remember Peck trained Muscle Hill, proves anyone can have a great horse, an entirely different song taking Tactical Landing and ¨fix¨ him. Does anybody think Tony will let that happen to him that horse will be there his entire racing career. Bobby Stewart took it like a man and did what was best for the horse. No way Tony does. JMO

Too much money over common sense. I bet I could buy 10 yearlings at $110,00 average and have a much better chance than them. Most of you on here could do the same.

Now when I think of successful brothers, there were 3 of them. Angus Hall, Conway Hall and Andover Hall.  They all won between 800 and 900,000 like 20 years ago and have all had great stud careers.  Speaking of Andover Hall. If I was purchasing yearlings, Every yearling would be out of an Andover Hall mare.

Also, there needs to be more Ready Cash and Love You yearlings. That is the future of trotting here IMO. They take a bit more time to develop but you will get trotters running 1:48 when they mature.

Ready For Moni will end up being way better than Ramona Hill next year. BOOK IT.
