That's a bit much. 6 months ? Not quite. In Ohio the shutdown is only till April 30th.
I stand by my prediction. I put the over/under at Labor Day - and I'll take the over all day.
The only way racing resumes, particularly on the east coast, is if every person admitted to the paddock is able to be tested first, with the 15 minute version of test. That would look something like a drive up testing point in the parking lot, with results texted to you. If negative, you would then be allowed to unload, and enter the paddock, showing the guard your text. If positive, your horse is scratched, but may enter the next week with a different handler.
Unfortunately, as a country the response to this pandemic as it relates to testing, and the procurement of an adequate amount of kits has been massively botched, so the idea of having literally millions of test kits available so we can return to some semblance of normalcy in all aspects of life, is only a dream. Lacking that, no track is going to want to be the one that comes back too soon, and winding up looking like a serial killer when the dominos start to fall.
The only way we race, eat in restaurants, go back to work, or go to ballgames again, is through extreme and persistent testing. Millions and millions of them - and I don't see a clear plan of that happening.

No state will allow their employees back till they have a month of very low hospitalizations, The are not going to put lives at risk for the standard bred business. Casinos also, open up have an outbreak and we will never get back. Wait it out and quit bitchen.
