Will all horses need to qualify?
« on: April 01, 2020, 12:32:22 PM »
Based on estimation that most tracks will be off for several months, Once they re-open, will every single horse need to qualify before an actual race?

Gonna make handicapping very challenging the first couple weeks back

When there was no winter racing horses didn't have to qualify before racing in the spring.

It will be a hot mess. No racing for six months, at least. Then, the arguing, claims of favoritism, start over who gets to qualify first. The last thing anybody wants, is to have to wait around for weeks to squeeze into a qualifier, after racing resumes.

IMO That won't happen like that. If this drags on for months the bigger tracks will most likely run qualifiers a lot more than once a week and will probably have 20 or so every time  And that doesn't even include the baby races.

Most people would rather qualify anyways if off too long. This ain’t good for anybody with any skin or time in this game.
