Claiming Yonkers 3rd Race 12/03/19
« on: December 03, 2019, 08:22:53 PM »
The favorite won the race and the 2nd thru 5th finishing horse were better odds than the horse that was claimed (30 to 1) that finished  7th. Why would someone claim that horse instead of any of the ones that finished 1 thru 6 ? It seems that they were all going for the same price if I am reading the conditions properly. I am new so it looks as if the horses 1 thru 3 were 5 and 7 YO and the one claimed was 8 YO. Would they all go for $12 K? No mares involved (1 thru 3 were either G or G and the claimed horse was a 8 YO G). Any thoughts?

Getting very knowledgeable info from young educated horseman already. Their advise and insight is refreshing and right on the money. Thanks again.

  • Calhoun: Thx I'm leaning to the 5 there.  Those CD/GP full field races look the best on the page. 1/2 length from being a G3 winner.
