if it happens then good. we need a home in southern maine. right now the industry is not too stable. a new track will bring new hope. hope it brings more owners and fans.

It is a sport that has very little interest. A new track won't bring in any new owners or fans. Sorry.

the builders of the propsed new track picture the track as part of an entertainment( casino eventually? ) and shopping complex. from what i understand sending the signal out and developing a handle that way will be the priority. the first step is getting racing dates at cumberland.

Plainridge has killed southern Maine racing.  Can't blame trainers, owners, drivers, bettors and fans for leaving Scaboro.  What the owners have done is reprehensible.  They have sucked every last penny of the casino money and done nothing for racing.  Bulldoze it down and just race in Bangor and expanded fair racing.  Less is better.

If they issue 40 days to Cumberland full time racing over !! I won't winter 4 or 5 I guess we will know Thursday! If that happens Mr Timmons along with one or two other comish's will be indicted!  (Facebook tape)Lets force downs to make improvements we have upper hand because they like everybody wants sports betting!

true that 40 days wont help, need 3 days a week for most of the year to help people to be able to afford to race in maine. plainridge has taken a lot of the horses away from maine but then again i would commute 3 hours each way for triple my income, and the compitition is basicly the same. scarborough has certainly bled every penny from the casino money into the terry family pockets.

Very true chief! We need commission to force downs, they should have to make improvement s or give up licence that's the only course the race track has been far the best surface in maine this year!

downs would be better if the current ownership was gone. it could be a decent place if cleaned up and run right.
