Lol quite a show jenning  quite a joke! Time to leave drift is there will be no new track they're going to let the Downs clean up their act!

its complicated but i cant believe that scarborough will be open much longer. new construction is closing in on the downs from all sides. it would be insanity to stop the new track. timmons is a good man. he is for the horseman.

if not tied to a casino....not happening....alth ough may stay at current location!!!....dont believe that has been ruled out??......they mentioned a sports complex with concerts?...so who knows with sports gambling on the horizon.......the grandstand could be fixed say a good paint job and 30 to 40 k inmprovments place will look brand new.........maybe  new name like "NewEngland Downs" presto .....we are off for the next 50 years

No way the current owners will spend a dime for paint or any other improvements.  It is reprehensible how they have pocketed casino money.  They have no integrity or morals or desire to improve facility.  Tear it down.

its not just the grandstand. to continue racing the downs will need a totally new barn area. i cant imagine the state continuing to send money to scarborough when there is no sign of whay they did with the millions that they have already received. its time to move on and get behind first tracks investments.

Obviously you weren't there today read between the lines going to fight if they have to take it to court Cumberland isn't an option for anything with first turn the other outfit only in it for sports betting they will sell the license just like Shawn Scott to the highest bidder California!! Barnyard is a joke you won't even see 1 down below within one or two years commission needs to force a changes at Scarborough Downs it's the only choice to comercial racing in Maine next year don't kid yourself!

new tracks anywhere need the casino to survive. sports betting will just be a small band aid. RI got it and they are not making a big fortune on it.   the plan at scarborough is that the track area will not be built on for a number of years. letting the current crooks run it will just keep things the same way it is now. no hope. cumberland could work if it is run right but who knows. at least the place is halfway decent. old but kinda cozy. would be cold nov thru april though. a summer time place.

Cumberland has been the "back-up plan" for years.

Awarding dates to Cumberland may be a good thing, causing disruption with the "business as usual" do-nothing Scabby Downs.

It is not economically feasible to invest in a harness track in year 2020 without a casino license......a recipe for failure......what bank would finance????none...
