PA Casino Fined $150,000 By Gaming Control Board

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today approved a fine of $150,000 against Downs Racing, L.P, operator of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, for not meeting mandated minimum staffing levels of its security staff.

The fine was the result of a Board approval at its public meeting of a consent agreement between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and the casino operator.

The consent agreement notes that there were 91 days between January 3, 2019 to April 28, 2019 in which the casino failed to meet minimum security staffing requirements.

The next regular meeting of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in the PGCB’s Public Hearing Room located on the second floor of the Strawberry Square Complex in Harrisburg.

Vegas barely makes money anymore from the casinos and pits

They make their money from the hotel and spas

My father has lived there over 50 years, and many hotels have filed bankruptcy including Ceasers.  MGM, that owns some 10 properties there has/is losing millions all around.  The hotel that replaced the Riv, hasn't turned a profit yet either. Same with the hotel that replaced the Sahara.
Millenials could give a shit about betting, except sports betting.  The Vegas experience is slowly dying.  Overbuilding and lack of interest has all hotels sweating. In short, they aren't making ANY money.

Hope this helps..My dad also tells me these places are ghost towns nowadays....been a gambler himself for decades and sees it firsthand weekly.  Most don't post accurate occupancy rates, but you may be surprised.
