PA Casino Fined $150,000 By Gaming Control Board

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board today approved a fine of $150,000 against Downs Racing, L.P, operator of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, for not meeting mandated minimum staffing levels of its security staff.

The fine was the result of a Board approval at its public meeting of a consent agreement between the PGCB’s Office of Enforcement Counsel and the casino operator.

The consent agreement notes that there were 91 days between January 3, 2019 to April 28, 2019 in which the casino failed to meet minimum security staffing requirements.

The next regular meeting of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 30, 2019 in the PGCB’s Public Hearing Room located on the second floor of the Strawberry Square Complex in Harrisburg.

My father has lived there over 50 years, and many hotels have filed bankruptcy including Ceasers.  MGM, that owns some 10 properties there has/is losing millions all around.  The hotel that replaced the Riv, hasn't turned a profit yet either. Same with the hotel that replaced the Sahara.
Millenials could give a shit about betting, except sports betting.  The Vegas experience is slowly dying.  Overbuilding and lack of interest has all hotels sweating. In short, they aren't making ANY money.

Calvin provided numbers, mostly about attendance, and a few earnings...again, you can earn all you want, however if you can't cover expenses, then you are a loser.  I posted links as my proof, he posted ZERO..So you are saying Ceasars didn't lose 18 Billion and didn't file bankruptcy?  What about the several other casinos that can't turn a profit?  I posted the evidence..Google Vegas bankruptcy and get back with us....thanks for sharing your personal experiences there also.  Bustling but losing there shirt entertaining these people is the message here.  Are all these bankruptcies lies?  I won't bore anyone with my experiences there, I already explained where my father lives....'nuff said.

My description of ghost town is the floors of these places every day...not so much at night...most on the streets taking in the sights, when they can bear the heat that is.  Dealers standing at empty tables, everywhere. It's killing the bottom line catering to empty floors every day, while lavishing the goods on everyone at night. How many times have you seen a joint with 25-30 tables and only 4-5 are open?  It's a common sight. tmbz1 Throw in the cheap food, and they start circling the drain when they gotta pay the help and entertainment, like Copperfield, and whoever has current residency there, like Spears, Aerosmith, ect.....it's downright expensive to the point of bankruptcy for many of those guys. Not the "good old days" to be sure....

Sands is wildly profitable
MGM profitable
Caesers profitable
Wynn very profitable.

Those are the big 4, top to bottom.

Caesers and Kirkorian got crunched during the financial crisis and the early 2010's were brutal there becasue the big convention $$ were always banking related and none of them could do Vegas for years. Obama literally told the banks 'you can't go to Vegas' when he bailed them out.  And Caesers got looted. Everybody knows this, right?

I'm sorry to call anybody a fucking dummy.  Dummy is good enough.

So I'm at a loss to explain the multiple reports stating otherwise, as shown in the links I posted?  Do your own research, and uncover the same things I did....Several casinos cant bay the bills, several. MGM alone, shows 10 properties that burn cash...people are not wagering like they used to, and it cost money to keep them coming and enjoying the visit. The joint that replaced the Stardust has yet to make 1 red cent..several outfits have opened up, only to close a year or 2 later.  The homestead is actually in Henderson, right off Boulder Hywy and Horizon Drive...A review of the Las Vegas Sun records tells the whole story, from the front row.  No question theyu flock the joint, they just don't bet like they need to in order to turn a profit.  Yes Ceasars walked away with 2 billion AFTER dumping a huge loss...they were far from alone..it all comes back to the wagering dollar, not Kerkorkian, or Wynn.  They overbuilt and ate it.

Fatboy   ....   Quit beating your head against the wall.

"Obama literally told the banks 'you can't go to Vegas' when he bailed them out."   What a load of shit.  He made a flippant remark, trying to make a point that the Banks needed to be responsible with the taxpayers money.   LOL     Calhoon believes there were government accountants over at Goldman Sachs every month, making sure there were no expenses reimbursed from the State of Nevada.   He probably got that valuable piece of inside info from his son who he was still claiming worked for Lehman Brothers, seven years after they went bankrupt.  :)

When someone provides no backup, but distinguishes between "wildly profitable", "very profitable" or "profitable", it's a good hint they are full of shit.
