Actually it's really close with CT having 42 more foals then SL. Every category is within one or two % but where the Capt pulls away is the top 10 earners put earn SL. But they have the same % of 50k and 10k earners. However you have to figure in the Capt's have the best mares, bring a higher yearling cost, and probably go to better trainers? Don't think there is much separation other then the top 7 horses of two total crops.

What is your def. of monster? Sure C Crunch and Tall Drink Hanover may be monsters and on the SL side W UBeaut she is definitely a monster. Just remember the biggest supporter/buyer of CT is the syndication. Tony And Myron buy a whole bunch and spend a lot of money. Yet when it comes to the PA sire u see them not participate on the 5/8 tracks....especia lly colts. So yes most race at the Meadowlands and Red Mile two of the fastest mile tracks and yes get those eye popping times...in which harness racing is all about. Fast times and records. Just like Muscle Hill tons of money are spent trying to find that next syndicated stud yet the money spent is nowhere close to money recouped. So with foal crops of over 100...Yeah you better get a couple monsters.

all fair comments about best mares and best trainer for captains
but to answer the question the captains have been the best
and the really good ones have been lightly raced so far in 2019
i suspect you will see 5 or 6 captains in the 2 yr colt pace breeders crown final
