Took time off to go traveling, not a bad gig. He doesn't have to do all the day to day stuff, he is now a consultant. He comes in when he wants and goes with some horses and gives his opinion. I think he deserves to do what he wants. Don't think he was ever caught with needles and syringes, thought it was tube of bute paste, in Canada in the late 90's.
bets trainer in the last century,,why are u guys so mad that everyone does wellhe was bored in retirement he came back,,
He doesn't know what he is talking about. Any lawyer that read his explanation laughed for sure. There is a law called Tolling. Tolling means that in this scenario, if someone leaves the U.S. that owes money ruled by a court decision, then the clock on statute of limitations is suspended. If the violator returns to the U.S., then the clock starts ticking again. If he had owed money, which he didn't, the authorities would have pounced on him as soon as he set foot on U.S. soil. Also, if he actually owed money, he certainly would not have been able to get a trainer license. Just pure nonsense. The truth is they figured out what he was using and gave him a lengthy "vacation" without making it "official". He was trainer of numerous world champions and the backlash and court battles would have been astronomical in time and cost for everyone associated. It was cheaper to just put him on ice for several years. If you know Brett, he is an egomaniac that would have fought back unless they had him dead to rights, which they did.
Totally mockery the guy never stopped for a day .
Does anyone on here know why Perretti left the game? - I know he was pissed he was losing all kinds of $$
Whoa - Completely 100% Inaccurate. Brett Pelling left for one reason! MONEY All the money Brooks had given him was at risk and he basically fled to Australia to wait out his 15yrs for the statute of limitations to be done. If you look at his exit and return you will see it's nearly 15yrs exactly. Aslo, if Brett was asked to leave as you say by the State of NJ why did they allow him to come back? Oh wait Brett you were gone 15yrs so we will just let you come back and do what you have always done. You give the NJ Racing Commission way too much credit in thinking they have the brains or where with all to make such an agreement with Pelling or Takter.
he's a spiteful, nasty, insecure immigrant and has never gotten over the negative treatment he endured when he first came here with the wave of scandinavian trot guys, team nordin, per this per that etc. unfortunately for them, guys like chucky sylvester was waiting for them with horses like peace corps and others and sent them packing.
Pelling was only gone for exactly 10 years which is about how long Takter will play the shell game he's playing. In my opinion Harness Racing could not afford the bad publicity and the lawsuits for reparations if Pelling and Takter were treated like ordinary trainers. It is true that Pelling was 'asked" to leave for 10 years. I think Takter was "asked" to take 7 years. The thing with Takter is that he's not as intelligent as Pelling and he is a showboat. Just because he wins races and makes money doesn't mean he's intelligent. He will make a mistake sooner or later. Also I am told that Takter hires illegal aliens and he treats his Swedish import grooms like indentured servants. He is NOT a nice guy. Pelling is a genuinely more honest human being and has feelings. Takter doesn't. Horseplop should be careful about what they say about Takter because he is the kind of guy who can get your website taken down. He will go to any lengths to protect his fake image. Be careful.
