First off IL with its fiscal inability and continually rising taxes, no one is knocking on the door to race back. No one will be heading back next year from the east coast other then sending some horses that can't compete. Not until the yearling population grows and another track is built. As of now they have 60 race dates? In a couple months dates for 2020 will be pieced out and it's harness year to have the winter dates at Haw. The people coming back should be the ones that make the Cal Expo to Running Aces back to Cal Expo trip. Homer seems content out east. Simpson lives miles from the Meadows. Erv has his kids out east you would have to wonder if Marcus said no not heading back why would Erv? I think most like the day racing. Some even take advantage of the day Philly racing and driving back to race at Pocono. MM udrs may be low but 2016 5.4mln purse earnings, 4.2mln 2018, 4.7m 2018, and 2.3m this year. Plus owners would need to commit back to buying IL breds. Will take years to build those numbers back. But yes you will see east coast satellite barns show up with some horses to take advantage of higher purses.
