I don't think he's worried about catching Aaron. Yeah he didn't drive at 2 tracks a day, how many starts a week did he have. No where as many as Aaron. He came from a different era. How much time did he have off with back problems and his demons. Pretty good horseman too.

Wins in Maine should only count as a half point each, after all it is Maine we are talking about here.

And Jupe, Aaron is younger than Ranger and has missed boatloads of time due to accidents breaking bones
