When the state was only handing out 3 licenses first time around he cried enough to convince them to hand him a fourth. They can do whatever they want with the right greasing.

Not at all.
Don't count on harness racing being moved to Long Island.
Best bet is a new facility close to Middletown, New York.
Winner for all if that happens:
MGM gets additional space for gaming, horsemen still get their percentage, and logistics are good.

Sounds to good to be true. I hope

Alls good as long as the Big M stays open   Actually all the half milers should close not just Yonkers

With the state contractually bound to return a pro-rated licensing fee to the 4 up-state casinos, it make no sense to allow full casino privileges to down state Racinos before, the year 2023. It would cost the state about $300 million.
So, I don't see Yonkers going anywhere soon. And, I mean anywhere like, to Belmont. NYRA is set to start a 2 year renovation at Belmont park with no plans for harness racing.

it could be more than the pro-rated fee unless it was stipulated in the contract

the 4 upstate casinos paid a licensing fee plus built with 7 year exclusivity

unless Genting and MGM want to pay up huge, they'll have to wait till 2023, the state doesn't have the money to pay off the other entities for Genting and MGM's gain

The Belmont renovations included accommodations for winter racing. Take a closer look at that, once Aqueduct receives an actual gaming license what does that tell you?

I don't there is any question, NYRA has long term plans that does not include racing at Aqueduct. They become eligible for a casino in less than 4 years. What I don't see is anywhere harness racing is in the forward plan.

Me either, and I still can't comprehend the general horsemen "without us" attitude. Right now they should be doing whatever they can reaching out to track managements with a viable plan that proves they are a viable entertainment and revenue source. Because when the day comes that the foundation for a hotel is being poured where the infield was will be too late. Yonkers right now has just over three years if what is being said is true, meanwhile John Brennan is having email wars with Jeff Gural. Very real possibility when the dust clears The Meadowlands may be the last man standing.

Well when you consider that Waterloo isn't part of the southern tier, the casino in Montighetto is failing and Rivers isn't so hot either he felt as though he was getting fucked.  Looking at the fact that his little place is the only one NOT FAILING he was right.

Missing the point, he did what he had to do. It worked. Point is when it comes down to it with enough support from the board any moratorium can be lifted. Any limit can be lifted. And if that happens...let's just say they won't be crying about keeping the barns at Yonkers. Unless you want to jog in the parking lot.
