HORSEPLOP HANDICAPPING CONTEST FOR 2019 !

With some new & old friends being involved in the upcoming new year, we would like to feel members out on how to stage a contest. There WILL be some sort of prize (unk. at present) to the winner. My thinking was one where you make 1 pick in every race at the Meadowlands where you get points if your horse hits the board, say 10 pts. for a win; 5 pts. for a place; 2.5 pts. for a show result.  Most points accrued is declared the winner. Ties split somehow fairly.

Your input on this would greatly be appreciated...

OK, after talking it over here's what we've come up with:

Saturday's 1/5 Meadowlands card will be the contest background.  Select the winner in each race.

10 pts. for picking the winner

5 pts. if it runs 2nd

2.5 pts. for a 3rd place finish

Also, you will be asked to select a BEST BET, which if it wins (must finish 1st), then you will receive bonus points based on dollar payoff, rounded down to the nearest whole dollar.  So, if your best bet wins and pays $7.60, you will receive 7 additional contest points.

Please reply if this sounds doable. We haven't set a prize pool yet but we will by Friday, Jan. 4.

Sounds good.

You just need to do two things ...

1.  Decide if picks are due before each race
or,
All races due before the first race.

2.  Set your rule on scratched selections.
