Just curious. What does it take to get banned from racing in Maine? I see they let Bob Sumner try to qualify two.

the Maine Racing Commission is very strict.  And they use the opinions of prominent owners and top trainers before making their decisions.

Because Bobby had a history of bad tests....mostly for low level drugs...….the trainers they spoke with said that Bob was no threat to the business ,or to them..so they recommended he be allowed to participate.

The trainers the  Commission checked with were  Rene Allard,  Lou Pena and  Shawn Thayer and Matt Madeeros

You are correct. I forgot Peter, and of course,  forgot to mention they do check with the Race Office at Scarborough, David Sawyer, to see if he needs this trainers horses to fill a card, and give the race office and judges stand , and other race officials, another days pay.
