Sure enough that some of the grooms look professional, clean, crisp and all-around on the job.  Then again, come the slobs that have pants fallin' down, big bellies hangin' out, nasty-inappropriate graphics on their t-shirts.  Understood that it's a dirty job; but, where should the venues draw the line.  AND! where should the owners strike a line from having sloppy, embarrassing characters hanging around in the WIN pictures.  Has harness racing locked into such old-school, out of touch mentality that no one realizes this is entertainment, big-time money and now requires common sense entertainment attire?

 

You talk about grooms attire, hell a lot of trainers look like street bums too! I’m all for trainers working with the horses in the paddock but how about looking a little bit like a professional.

Everyone is hating this idea... but it has some solid foundation.

I don't think grooms should wear uniforms, but I agree that harness racing grooms often look disgusting and they currently are in no way barred from being completely visible to the public in the paddock and in win pics...  This wouldn't fly at most t-bred tracks

They make the sport look like a bunch of poor hillbillies... which it is, but we don't want outsiders to know that

yet another scummer wearin' the same T-shirt for 6 days .. pay attention, EXPORT ... they are on the BIG screen if they're w/ a winning trainer ...  is it just way, way too much to ask for these representatives of our sport to have some decent self-respect?  I'm probably posing that question to the wrong guy  *  apparently, it's more important to you to defend lookin' like a bum than spending 2 minutes gettin' a decent shirt from your closet before you head out.  RIDICULOUS   !  and  IRRESPONSIBLE !!! you, sir, represent us all, so straighten up and fly right   *

AND....WE DRESSED DECENTLY, WITH NO LOGO SHIRTS, CUTOFFS, SANDALS, ECT...OR WE WERE SENT HOME, NO MATTER WHERE THAT WAS. ASSISTANTS WERE...REQUIRED.. .TO WEAR KAHKIS AND POLOS, OR COLORS  DAILY, OR GET SENT HOME ALSO
SO JUDGING A FEW FOLKS AS A WHOLE GROUP IS SIMPLY IGNORANT.
